I began my golfing career at age 5 thanks to my parents who are both avid golfers. I have been fortunate to have their support throughout my career. That was the beginning of what has become a lifelong journey to share my passion for the game with people from all walks of life. Whether it be through playing, serving or coaching golfers of all skill levels I look forward to the challenge that is helping everyone enjoy themselves just that little bit more with each visit. Returning to Murray Downs is a homecoming of sorts as it remains the only place where I have been fortunate enough to win a Club Championship.
Completing my PGA Traineeship in 2009 under the guidance of Michael MacGregor at Tocumwal Golf Club I found my feet in the industry with an Assistant Professional role at Murrumbidgee Country Club in Canberra. This was followed by a Head Professional appointment at Cowra Golf Club and a stint as Head Professional at Gailes Golf Club in Brisbane. In 2018 I was appointed as the Head Professional at Royal Hobart Golf Club before coming to Murray Downs Golf & Country Club in late 2023. I am the first 4-time winner of the Australian PGA Professionals Championship with wins in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2023.
I have been lucky throughout my career to have been given the opportunity to learn from some very knowledgeable and experienced experts within the Australian golfing industry which has helped immensely in my development both in coaching as well as growing the game through other avenues. All of them have stressed the importance of helping nurture the future of the game through many different means and programs.
My coaching philosophy involves ensuring that each and every golfer has a strong understanding of basic fundamentals and that your best golf is played when you keep it simple. A clear mind will allow you to perform to the best of your ability whatever the circumstance. I am greatly looking forward to looking after the members and guests of the Murray Downs Golf & Country Club.
